it's already time for finals?

Dude. In 11 days, it will be August 9th, and I will be in Orlando. That is just weird. Which also means that I leave here in 10 days.... Woah, can't handle that right now.

Today was my last day of work at Boaty's. I really can't believe that summer is almost over. It feels like just yesterday I was in the middle of dead week, stressing over finals. And it's already that time of the semester. Dead week. Finals start Monday at 8 am. Well, at least my one final does. Yes, that's right, my ONE final is during the FIRST testing period. That's going to be a fun, early drive to campus.

Summer dead week is a little different than fall or spring dead week, at least it is for me. I only have one class, which makes it really difficult to want to study. "It's only one class, there is plenty of time to study." Yeah, I tell myself that, and the next thing I know I'm sitting in a lecture hall taking a test. Anyways, this is my last attempt at procrastinating. Usually I would be in the library studying for finals, but not this semester. That whole living at home thing poses a problem. The library was a 3 minute drive from my dorm last semester. This semester, more like 30 minutes north on 75, and that's when traffic is moving. Oh Atlanta traffic....

Anyways, studying. Yeah, not really happening right now. But it's a big tv night! So You Think You Can Dance and Futurama were on tonight. And the new season of Jersey Shore. That show is just like a car crash that you don't want to look at, but can't look away. Oh well, I watch Real Housewives of New Jersey too, it's my trashy tv and there really isn't much else to do in McDonough.

I was going to be very productive after work before all my shows came on. That was my plan. Study until it's time for tv. But then I looked at my desk. And I reconsidered. It is just...

Well....

I mean....

it's summer....

and I haven't used this desk in forever.... and.... um....

oh just look at a picture of the train wreck

Yeah... I've had this desk for quite some time. Notice how there is no chair. That has been taken to my brothers room. If you look underneath, you can see where there used to be a shelf thingy for a keyboard, back when I had a desktop. That little shelf had to go away when my legs grew and were too long to fit underneath. And there is really no need, I have a laptop. There is no point at trying to fix this problem. It's just a lost cause, this messy desk. Buzz is there, Arrested Development DVDs, 30 Rock, Harry Potter, the complete Angel series, a rubiks cube... my rat cap? I still have that? sweet, I thought that one got lost in a move. Anyways, yeah, no point in cleaning this off. Because honestly, I have no idea where to put it. All this stuff would just end up on the floor. And it's not like there is left over food lost in the mix or anything. Just stuff.

Stuff that I'm going to take with me to Orlando. That packing list.... still need to do that. After finals. AFTER FINALS. I have to keep reminding myself of that. after finals.... starting next week. After Monday at 10:30 AM, finals will be over. And the packing will begin. Then. Not now.

Well, that little blog thing, the random thoughts of my day, let me avoid studying for a little while. I guess i should get back to that. Bleh. Since I have no desk, I've resorted to my bed. Which is just....

It can be a little stressful. Here's a list of the topics: (and this is just a basic list. You should see how many notes and practice problems I have. It is disgusting)
electric charges and forces
electric fields
gauss's law
electric potential
potential and fields
current and resistance
circuits
the magnetic field
electromagnetic induction
electromagnetic fields and waves
AC circuits

I have the essentials: my favorite snack cereal, Diet Dr. Pepper, and Pandora.

And I guess all that important stuff, like my book, calculator, notes....

And Herman.

three weeks

Is it really only three weeks away? Wow, that is insane. I should probably start figuring out my life or something. That whole "get everything done" thing. Make lists, make sure all paperwork related to school is done, figure out what to pack, get the Maddie Mazda's oil changed, figure out what those weird noises are she's been making when chilling out at red lights, learn physics, figure out Biot-Savart Law, LC and LR Circuits.... ok, maybe I really should make a list. This is going to get overwhelming. Take a chill pill, breathe, drink a Diet Dr. Pepper, and repeat.

Well, now that the mini freak out moment is over, I have exciting news! I finally got my flip camera! Which means......... vlog! That's right kids, I can start a vlog. One more thing to help me procrastinate. But yes, I now have a camera, and I plan on using it for either the adventure that is packing (trust me... this will be an adventure) and the trip down to Orlando. That is going to be a fun drive. Well, it really shouldn't be that bad, I should chill out with the sarcasm, it doesn't really work as well in writing as it does in person. I know, shocking.

I guess this is where I start making sense about this post, but really, it's just a filler until it's time to pack. Like for real pack.

Well, recently I got to have an awesome adventure to CPK (California Pizza Kitchen) and some Ben and Jerry's ice cream with a great friend, so that is always a plus. What else has happened recently... Oh! Movies. Inception. GO SEE IT. Everything you can ask for in a movie and more. I need to see it again. and again. and again. Just so good, really people, go see it. That's not the only movie I saw this week though... Despicable Me. So cute. Even though it isn't Disney, I really liked it. Too adorable.

That really is all that is going on in my life right now: school, work, chilling in McDonough, some trivia, you know, same stuff, different day. But in a couple weeks... life is going to get hectic. With the packing and the driving and that whole final exam thing for physics... oh boy, lets not think about that now.

I've realized that this little blog thing is probably super boring with no pictures, so this is Herman, the pig that travels with me everywhere and will be helping me pack.

Yes, Herman is a stuffed animal pig from the Pink Pig at Macy's. He's ready to go; took my keys and phone. Thanks Herman. Herman has eyelashes like a girl. Because he is really Priscilla the Pink Pig. But that was just not fitting, and, honestly, just looks like a Herman. He got his name like Kevin from Up, you know that whole "Kevin's a girl" thing. My friend Jessie named him for me.

These are a couple more buddies coming to Disney.

Nibbler and Bender cannot miss out on an adventure like this. Who knows when something will need bending or require dark matter!

1 month

Today it is exactly 1 month until my check in date. I know, crazy, only a month left. Which got me thinking.... I LEAVE IN ONE MONTH. I should probably start considering what to pack. And maybe start figuring out what professional attire I have that follows the Disney Look. Oh dear, so much to think about. One month.

So. Packing. I usually do this the night before I go somewhere. Or the morning of. But since I'm going to be gone until January, I should probably plan what to take. I mean, it's not like when I'm at Tech and can just drive 30 minutes south and be home. This time, it's about a 7 hour drive. Which means I need to actually plan my packing. Maybe I'll make a list. There are times when I love lists and times when I hate them. This is one of those times where I better make sure I love them. I'll do that next weekend. Hopefully. Maybe I'll get ahead of the game and do it this weekend. Eh, we shall see.

I do know some of the stuff that I need to make sure I remember though. You know, clothes. I'll need to narrow down the t-shirts though. I have about 50 billion Alpha Gam shirts, about 20 thousand Georgia Tech shirts, and... well... just too many t-shirts. I'll have to limit the number of AGD and Tech shirts. Those alone could fill a suitcase. Then there are jeans, professional pants, shorts, my squirrel pjs, and all that fun stuff. I can't decide about my bedding though. I have these baller lion king sheets from way back, and some little mermaid ones, and then the ones I have in the dorm. Maybe I'll take all 3 sets... eh, poor little Maddy Mazda can only handle so much.

Then there's the tv, the N64, Sega Genesis, DVDs, my books (I feel incomplete without my books), a bunch of cords to plug stuff in with, coffee maker, laptop, camera, iPod, alarm clock... and then my knick knacks. These include, but are not limited to, my rubik's cube, knitting (just started doing that), Futurama action figures, all my AGD related items (you should see just how many things I own that have either my letters, a squirrel, or a combo of the two on them), buzz bobble head, mannequin arm, and a bunch of other random things in my room that I'll take. And of course my Lady Gaga poster. That is a must. So is the Snow White print I got for my birthday one year, that's a good decoration.

And one thing that I cannot forget is Herman. Herman is my pig. Well, not live pig, but my one stuffed animal that I'm not even embarrassed about. He has been everywhere with me, in every dorm/apartment I've lived in, so of course he's going to Disney. I think Herman was supposed to be a girl, it's from the Pink Pig at Macy's that they have every Christmas. But my friend Jessie said he looked like a Herman, so it just stuck. I think it had something to do with that whole part from UP, you know, "Kevin's a girl?"

In addition to all my personal belongings, there is all that paperwork I need to remember. The on-boarding paperwork... all those different forms of ID.... yes, a list will be needed. I'll work on that.

Well, in non-Disney related things, life in Mcdizzle is not that thrilling. A couple friends and I made pralines, which was a success! Now I know why those suckers cost like a bagillion dollars a pound. Let's see, anything else.... nope, pretty much just work and school. And tv, I'm usually tired after work because I wake up at like 7:30, but I usually can't fall asleep until 3 in the morning, so I lay around and watch tv. Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, So You Think You Can Dance, Futurama, True Blood, and past tv series on DVD. Right now the series being watched on DVD is Angel, a spin off of Buffy. And let me tell you, it's good.

Anyways, not much else going on here. The next blog will probably be about the actual packing adventure, including pictures. I know, thrilling. And one day I'll make a vlog.... maybe I'll do that when I get there, since I'm going to have so much free time (sarcasm intended). We shall see!
